Abu Dhabi Aldar Championship: Three Share the Lead
The first of two DP World Tour play-off events is wide open after round two at Yas Links. Tyrrell Hatton signed for a seven-under 65 on Friday, following his opening 67, to join Jon Rahm and Francesco Laporta at the top. That trio leads by one shot over a group of four that includes Rory McIlroy, Poland’s Adrian Meronk and Englishmen Matthew Jordan and Sam Bairstow.
McIlroy produced the round of the day, a nine-under 63 with 11 birdies, including five in a row from the ninth hole. He recovered from a bogey on his first hole and from the two-shot penalty he picked up in round one. Rahm added a 67 in his first competitive start in seven weeks and his first appearance at Yas Links, while Laporta’s 70 was enough to stay in front.
The stakes go beyond the trophy. The Abu Dhabi event is the opening play-off, with the top 70 available players in the Race to Dubai competing and only the top 50 going on to the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai. McIlroy, third in the standings behind Eugenio Chacarra and Patrick Reed, is chasing a record-tying eighth Race to Dubai title.

World Wide Technology Championship: Ben James Takes Control
On the PGA Tour, 23-year-old Ben James holds a one-shot lead at the World Wide Technology Championship at El Cardonal at Diamante in Cabo San Lucas. A bogey-free 64 on Friday, finished with his eighth birdie of the day on the last hole, took him to 15 under through 36 holes (129).
Peter Malnati also shot 64 and sits one back at 14 under, with Zac Blair alone in third at 12 under. James has collected four top-five finishes since joining the tour out of college in June, so this is a familiar position. The course is a par 72 of 7,452 yards, and the event is the second of two stops in Mexico in the FedExCup Fall.

Mexico Open: Andrew Novak Laps the Field
Last week at Vidanta Vallarta, Andrew Novak won the VidantaWorld Mexico Open at 25 under with rounds of 67, 61, 62 and 69 for a 259 total. It was his first individual PGA Tour title, worth $1,080,000 from a $6 million purse and 500 FedExCup Fall points. Steven Fisk charged into a tie for second with a final-round 63, and Isaiah Salinda was alone in third at 19 under after a closing 65. It was the final edition of the event at Vidanta Vallarta.
Bermuda Championship: Smotherman Wins in a Monday Playoff
Austin Smotherman added a second PGA Tour win to his October, beating Seamus Power in a sudden-death playoff to take the Butterfield Bermuda Championship at Port Royal Golf Course. Gusts of up to 40 mph forced the cancellation of Sunday’s final round, so the event was shortened to 54 holes and the pair finished level at 16 under before the Monday playoff. Smotherman earned the $1,080,000 winner’s share. He had already won the Bank of Utah Championship at the start of the month, his first tour title.
Round one had belonged to Chandler Blanchet, who opened with a nine-under round, one clear of Corey Conners, Ben Kohles, Ben Silverman and D. Walker.

LPGA Tour: Yamashita Defends, Yoshida Breaks Through
Maybank Championship (Kuala Lumpur)
Miyu Yamashita of Japan defended her title, closing with a 68 to finish at 22 under (266), two clear of China’s Yan Liu. She collected $450,000 from the $3 million purse, her fifth LPGA Tour title in two seasons. Thai amateur Marisa Tojai tied for third on 269 in her first LPGA start.
BMW Ladies Championship (Haenam, Korea)
Yuri Yoshida won her first LPGA title by one shot after trailing by four entering the final round. Haeran Ryu and Hye-Jin Choi tied for second at 16 under, with Choi narrowly missing a birdie putt on 18 that would have forced a playoff. Yoshida took home $352,500 of the $2.35 million purse.
Buick LPGA Shanghai
Ruoning Yin won by one shot over Hye-Jin Choi at 11 under, using a four-foot birdie on the 16th to break a tie. It was her second LPGA win of 2026 and was worth $480,000.
The Asian swing finishes this week with the Toto Japan Classic at Taiheiyo Club Minori Course, where Nasa Hataoka is the defending champion.
Race to Dubai: Chacarra Leads, Katsuragawa Surges
Spain’s Eugenio Chacarra took the top spot in the standings by winning the DP World India Championship at Delhi Golf Club on 18 October. He finished 21 under, his fourth DP World Tour title and third of 2026. McIlroy tied for 42nd in that event.
The regular season closed in South Korea, where Japan’s Yuto Katsuragawa won the Genesis Championship at Woo Jeong Hills by two shots at 13 under. He arrived ranked 106th in the Race to Dubai, needing a big week to keep his card, and the win lifted him to 28th, secured his 2027 playing rights and earned him a place in the play-offs. Frederic Lacroix and Martin Couvra shared second. The season finale, the DP World Tour Championship at Jumeirah Golf Estates in Dubai, runs from 12 to 15 November with a $10 million purse.
Champions Tour and Senior Golf
Sabbatini produced a closing charge to win the Stifel Charity Classic in St. Louis, and Vijay Singh won the SAS Championship at age 63 at nine under, two clear of Ernie Els.
