Bermuda Championship: Blanchet Leads After Round One

The PGA Tour leaderboard belongs to Chandler Blanchet after the opening round of the Butterfield Bermuda Championship at Port Royal Golf Course. Blanchet signed for a nine-under round, one stroke clear of a four-player pack that includes Corey Conners, Ben Kohles, Ben Silverman and D. Walker on eight under.

Port Royal is a par 71 measuring roughly 6,800 yards, and the field is competing for a $6 million purse. Adam Schenk is the defending champion. With low scoring on offer early in the week, expect the cut line to land well under par and the weekend to reward whoever keeps making birdies rather than protecting a lead.

DP World India Championship: Chacarra Wins and Goes Top of the Race to Dubai

Spain’s Eugenio Chacarra won the DP World India Championship at Delhi Golf Club on Sunday, finishing 21 under after a closing two-under 70. It is his fourth DP World Tour title and his third of the 2026 season, following earlier wins in the Netherlands and Italy. The victory lifts him to the top of the Race to Dubai standings, ahead of Masters champion Patrick Reed.

The week was disrupted by weather, forcing Chacarra to finish his third round on Sunday morning. He answered with a 63 before going back out to protect his lead in the final round, despite having dealt with a broken toe and a neck problem in recent weeks.

Rory McIlroy, third in the Race to Dubai, was in contention early but slipped to a tie for 42nd at four under. Anirban Lahiri was the best of the Indian contingent, tying for 23rd at eight under after a bogey-free 68 on Sunday.

The race for the season title now heads to the DP World Tour Championship at Jumeirah Golf Estates in Dubai, scheduled for 12 to 15 November with a $10 million purse.

LPGA Tour: Ruoning Yin Edges Hye-Jin Choi in Shanghai

China’s Ruoning Yin claimed the Buick LPGA Shanghai at Sheshan Golf Club, finishing 11 under on 277 for a one-shot victory over Hye-Jin Choi. A four-foot birdie putt at the 16th broke a back-nine tie with the third-round leader, and Yin closed with a 68 to collect her second LPGA Tour title of 2026 and the $480,000 winner’s share of a $3.2 million purse. Amy Yang took solo third at eight under.

The tour now moves to South Korea for the BMW Ladies Championship at Pine Beach Golf Links in Haenam (22 to 25 October, par 72, $2.35 million purse). After round one, Karis Davidson and Yoshida share the lead; Davidson birdied six of her first eight holes on the way to a six-under 66.

Presidents Cup: USA Complete the Biggest Final-Day Comeback

Although it finished at the end of September, the 2026 Presidents Cup remains the story that defines this stretch of the golf calendar. The United States beat the International team 17-13 at Medinah Country Club, winning a record-setting 9.5 of 12 singles points to overturn a 10.5-7.5 deficit. It is the Americans’ eleventh straight Presidents Cup victory.

Cameron Young started the rally with a 3&2 win over Ryo Hisatsune, rookie Jackson Koivun beat Si Woo Kim, and Jacob Bridgeman delivered the deciding point by beating Min Woo Lee one up after Lee bogeyed the 18th. The next edition is set for 2028 at Kingston Heath in Melbourne.
