Qatar MotoGP Sprint results: Marquez wins, Martin third

Pole-sitter Marco Bezzecchi set a Lusail lap record in qualifying, but crashed in the Sprint after contact with Marquez. A first-lap collision that took out Francesco Bagnaia caused a red flag. Martin, riding on his return from a fractured right wrist, started 11th and briefly led after the restart before Marquez took the place back and pulled away. On the final lap Fabio Di Giannantonio passed Martin for second, which cost the Aprilia rider two points, according to Grande Prêmio.

How Marquez can clinch the MotoGP title in Qatar

A Grand Prix win is worth 25 points. If Marc Marquez wins and Martin fails to score, the gap reaches 74 points, the most that remains available across the final two weekends in Portugal and Valencia. Marquez also holds the countback over Martin, and a win would put him out of Bezzecchi's reach too. That would be his eighth premier-class title (tenth overall). If Martin finishes 15th or better, or Marquez does not win, the championship goes to Portugal.

Australian MotoGP: Phillip Island's farewell ends early

Marquez took pole after an early crash in qualifying, then won a dramatic Sprint ahead of brother Alex Marquez and Di Giannantonio, retaking the title lead. Martin crashed from the fight on lap eight and was declared unfit with a fractured right radius and suspected ulna. Raul Fernandez was also ruled out, and Sunday's grand prix was cancelled because of bad weather. It was the last race at Phillip Island, with the Australian round moving to Adelaide from 2027.

Malaysian MotoGP: Marquez dominates at Sepang

Acosta won a tense Sprint after Alex Marquez crashed from the lead, with Marc Marquez second and Bezzecchi third. In the race, Marc Marquez controlled the pace in sweltering heat for his seventh win of the season, beating Acosta by about four seconds, with Alex Marquez third. Bezzecchi and Ogura collided late on and Bezzecchi then lost fifth to Bastianini. Martin withdrew to continue recovering. Speedcafe notes Marquez is now nine wins short of Valentino Rossi's premier-class record.
