Racing Santander 2–1 Alavés
Racing Santander produced one of Saturday's most impressive comebacks, recovering from an early deficit to beat previously unbeaten Alavés 2–1 at El Sardinero.
Koski gave Alavés the lead, but Racing's response was led by Yassir Zabiri. The Moroccan forward scored twice to complete the turnaround, taking his tally to five goals in five league appearances. Alavés were reduced to 10 men late on after André Almeida was sent off.
The result represented Racing's second league victory of the campaign and ended Alavés' unbeaten start.
Key statistic: Zabiri's five goals in five matches made him one of the most productive forwards in the early LaLiga campaign.
Osasuna 0–2 Espanyol
Espanyol secured an impressive away victory at El Sadar, beating Osasuna 2–0 through a first-half double from Roberto Fernández.
Espanyol made a lightning-fast start. Roberto Fernández opened the scoring inside the first few minutes before adding a second shortly afterwards. Osasuna were unable to find a response and Espanyol protected their advantage for the remainder of the match.
The victory highlighted Espanyol's efficiency in front of goal, with the visitors effectively deciding the contest during the opening 20 minutes.
Athletic Club 1–1 Elche
Athletic Club and Elche shared the points at San Mamés in a closely contested 1–1 draw.
The result continued a mixed opening to the season for both sides. Athletic entered the match with six goals from their opening four games, while Elche had conceded heavily in their early fixtures.
Pre-match statistical data showed Athletic averaging more than 400 passes per game, while Elche had averaged more than 500, illustrating the contrasting approaches between the two teams.
Real Madrid 4–1 Rayo Vallecano
Real Madrid produced a convincing response at the Santiago Bernabéu, defeating Rayo Vallecano 4–1 and keeping pressure on Barcelona at the top of the table.
Mbappé opened the scoring from the penalty spot after Álvaro Carreras was fouled. Carreras then doubled the lead three minutes later before Jude Bellingham made it 3–0 before half-time.
Sergio Camello pulled one back shortly after the interval, giving Rayo encouragement, but Mbappé struck again in stoppage time to complete his brace.
Real Madrid finished with 58% possession, 23 total attempts and 10 shots on target. Rayo managed 18 attempts, seven of them on target, but Madrid were ultimately more clinical.
The victory also continued Mbappé's outstanding start to the campaign. According to Reuters, the France international's second goal was his seventh in six appearances.
Celta Vigo 1–1 Málaga
Celta Vigo and Málaga could not be separated in a 1–1 draw that continued Celta's winless opening to the campaign.
Celta entered the match having scored only twice in their first four matches, while Málaga had scored once. Their respective pre-match numbers pointed toward a low-scoring contest.
The point kept both teams searching for their first league victory of the season.
Levante 2–4 Barcelona
Barcelona maintained their perfect start to the LaLiga season with a dramatic 4–2 victory away to Levante, moving to 15 points from five matches.
Xavi Espart opened the scoring with his first senior goal before Lamine Yamal added Barcelona's second. Yamal subsequently converted a penalty to put the visitors in a commanding position.
Levante refused to collapse. Iván Romero and Roger Brugué pulled the hosts back into the contest, creating a tense finish. Substitute Karim Adeyemi finally settled the match with a stoppage-time strike.
Lamine Yamal's brace was the headline individual performance, while the result extended Barcelona's winning run to five consecutive league matches.
Getafe 1–1 Deportivo La Coruña
Getafe and Deportivo La Coruña shared the points in another 1–1 draw. The result maintained Deportivo's unbeaten start and extended Getafe's run of inconsistent results.
Pre-match numbers showed a clear contrast between the sides. Deportivo had scored eight goals in their first four matches, compared with only two for Getafe, while both sides had conceded five.
Real Sociedad 0–3 Atlético Madrid
Atlético Madrid returned to winning ways in emphatic fashion, beating Real Sociedad 3–0 at the Reale Arena.
The match remained competitive for long periods before Atlético exploded into life late on. All three goals arrived during the final six minutes, turning a tight encounter into a decisive away victory.
Jonathan David scored his first goal for Atlético Madrid, while Alejandro Grimaldo also opened his Atlético account. Giuliano Simeone completed the scoring late in the contest.
The three points were particularly important for Diego Simeone's side after a difficult opening to the campaign. Atlético's efficiency in the closing stages ultimately proved decisive.

Five Biggest LaLiga Talking Points
- Barcelona remain the team to beat. Five wins from five have put the defending champions on 15 points, three clear of Real Madrid.
- Mbappé continues to deliver. The Real Madrid forward scored twice against Rayo Vallecano and reached seven goals in six appearances.
- Atlético finally rediscover their winning touch. A late three-goal burst against Real Sociedad gave Diego Simeone's side an important 3–0 victory.
- Racing Santander produce a major comeback. Yassir Zabiri's brace overturned an early Alavés lead and ended the visitors' unbeaten start.
- Several mid-table contests remain finely balanced. Athletic-Elche, Celta-Málaga and Getafe-Deportivo all ended level, ensuring that the early-season table remains congested outside the leading contenders.
LaLiga Weekend Roundup: The Bigger Picture
Barcelona emerged from the weekend as the biggest winners. Their 4–2 comeback at Levante preserved a perfect five-from-five record and gave Hansi Flick's side 15 points at the top of the table.
Real Madrid remain within touching distance after their 4–1 victory over Rayo Vallecano. Mbappé once again supplied the finishing quality, while Bellingham and Carreras also found the net.
Atlético Madrid's 3–0 victory was arguably just as important. The Rojiblancos had struggled for consistency at the beginning of the season, but three goals in the final six minutes transformed a tight game at Real Sociedad into a statement away win.
Further down the table, Racing Santander's comeback against Alavés and Espanyol's win at Osasuna provided significant momentum, while the three weekend draws demonstrated how competitive the middle of the LaLiga table is becoming.
With Barcelona still perfect and Real Madrid only three points behind, the early title race is already developing into a two-team battle. Atlético Madrid's latest victory, however, suggests that Diego Simeone's side should not be discounted as the season develops.
