Matchweek 2 delivered 25 goals, 10 decisive results and no draws, with Roma producing the weekend's biggest statement while Como stunned Napoli at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
The second round of the new Serie A campaign was remarkable for its lack of stalemates. Every one of the 10 fixtures produced a winner, while the 25 goals represented an average of 2.5 per game. Seven teams also kept clean sheets.
The round began with Milan beating Venezia 2–0 on Friday and concluded with Atalanta edging Bologna 1–0 on Monday. The official fixture record confirms all 10 Matchweek 2 results.
Milan opened the weekend with a controlled 2–0 victory over Venezia at San Siro, maintaining their perfect start under Rúben Amorim. Gonçalo Ramos broke the deadlock in the 69th minute before Redouane Halhal turned the ball into his own net in the 89th minute.
The attendance was 75,141, one of the largest crowds of the round. Milan enjoyed 58% possession and followed up their opening-day 2–1 win at Torino with another clean sheet. Venezia, meanwhile, remained pointless after two matches.
Milan's first two league games have produced four goals for and only one against, giving the Rossoneri an early goal difference of +3.
One of the weekend's biggest surprises came in Florence, where newly promoted Frosinone stunned Fiorentina 3–0. Antonio Raimondo scored twice, in the 26th and 68th minutes, while Bracaglia added the other goal in the 38th minute.
Raimondo's brace made him one of the leading individual performers of Matchweek 2 and gave Frosinone a huge away victory after their narrow opening-day defeat to Juventus.
The weekend's most open contest saw Udinese defeat Monza 3–2. Piotrowski opened the scoring in the 32nd minute, before Monza responded through Andrea Colpani in the 37th.
Kamara restored Udinese's advantage just before half-time and Ekkelenkamp made it 3–1 in first-half stoppage time. Guillermo Varela pulled one back for Monza in the 63rd minute, but Udinese held on for their first victory of the campaign.
Sassuolo also secured their first win of the season by beating Torino 2–1. Cristian Volpato put the hosts ahead in the 32nd minute before Torino levelled through Comuzzo just before half-time.
Domenico Berardi supplied the decisive moment in the 79th minute, converting a late opportunity to give Sassuolo all three points.
Juventus maintained their 100% record with a 2–0 victory over Parma. Nico González broke the deadlock in the 62nd minute, while Teun Koopmeiners added a second in the 88th.
The result meant Luciano Spalletti's Juventus had won their first two matches without conceding, following their 1–0 victory over Frosinone in Matchweek 1. The decisive contribution of the substitutes was a notable feature of the victory.
The weekend's headline result arrived in Naples, where Como defeated Napoli 2–1. Martin Baturina opened the scoring in the 17th minute after an assist from Assane Diao. Napoli levelled through Rasmus Højlund in the 30th minute, but Anastasios Douvikas restored Como's lead seven minutes later.
Como were particularly impressive in possession and shot volume. They had 58% of the ball and produced 21 shots, with six on target, compared with Napoli's 13 shots and two on target. Como also won the corner count 7–2.
Højlund's goal was his first for Napoli in the match and came from one of his two attempts. Baturina was also influential beyond his goal, supplying the assist for Douvikas and registering four shots.
The defeat leaves Napoli with three points from their opening two games, while Como moved to four points after beginning the season with a draw at Udinese.
Defending champions Inter Milan made it two wins from two by beating Cagliari 1–0. Hakan Çalhanoğlu scored the only goal after just nine minutes.
Inter controlled much of the contest and managed to protect their early advantage, although Cagliari threatened to make the champions pay for missed opportunities late in the match.
Inter's victory followed their 4–1 opening-day demolition of Monza, leaving Cristian Chivu's side with six points from six and a +4 goal difference after two rounds.
Lazio joined the perfect-start group with a narrow 1–0 win over Genoa. Davide Frattesi scored in the 25th minute after being set up by Nuno Tavares.
Genoa actually had the greater share of possession, 54% to Lazio's 46%, but produced only one shot on target from eight attempts. Lazio had 15 attempts, although only two were on target.
The result was Lazio's second consecutive 1–0 victory and another clean sheet, while Genoa suffered their second defeat without scoring.
Roma produced the most emphatic victory of Matchweek 2, dismantling Lecce 4–0. Donyell Malen scored twice inside the opening 23 minutes, putting Roma firmly in control before Matías Soulé added a third in the 25th minute.
Roma's fourth goal arrived through R. Mora in the 65th minute, completing a second straight 4–0 league victory for the Giallorossi.
After also beating Fiorentina 4–0 in their opening fixture, Roma have scored eight goals without conceding after two matches. That gives them a remarkable +8 goal difference and makes them the early benchmark for attacking efficiency.
Atalanta completed the round with a dramatic 1–0 victory over Bologna. The decisive goal did not arrive until the fifth minute of stoppage time, when Lazar Samardžić found the breakthrough.
The late winner gave Atalanta six points from their opening two matches and ensured that Matchweek 2 ended without a single draw.

Two rounds into the season, the title race is already showing signs of developing into a multi-team contest. Defending champions Inter have begun with maximum points, while Milan, Juventus and Lazio have also won both of their opening fixtures.
Roma, however, have made the most spectacular start statistically. Consecutive 4–0 victories leave them with eight goals scored and none conceded. That combination of attacking output and defensive solidity gives them the strongest goal difference in the early standings.
Como's victory over Napoli is another early warning that the division's established hierarchy cannot be taken for granted. After finishing fourth last season and qualifying for the Champions League, Como showed in Naples that they are capable of competing with one of Italy's traditional powers.
Napoli, meanwhile, must regroup quickly. Massimiliano Allegri's team followed their opening 2–0 victory over Genoa with a home defeat, and their next fixture is a heavyweight meeting with Inter.
